Just visiting

Here for the week?

You don’t need a membership and you don’t need to commit to anything. Book a single class, turn up, and go back to the beach.

  • Drop in — $27.99. One reformer, spin or yoga class, or a 45-minute sauna and ice Free Flow at Waialua.
  • Visitor intro — from $60.99. Three classes across two weeks, if you’re here long enough to use them.
  • Book ahead. The rooms are small and morning classes fill. Same-day is often fine, but don’t count on walking in.

Local resident pricing needs a Hawaiʻi ID or a long-term lease, so visitor rates are what you’ll see without one. Everything else is identical — same classes, same teachers, same rooms.

How it works

Three steps, then show up.

Pick your room

Reformer Pilates at Haleʻiwa and Pupukea. Yoga, spin, sauna and cold plunge at Waialua. If you have no idea, start with reformer — it’s our signature and it’s built for every level.

What to know.

Pulling the straps on a reformer at The Den Haleʻiwa, seen from behind
  • Arrive 10 minutes early Just for your first one, so we can fit the machine to you and hear about any injuries.
  • Bring water and a sweat towel Things get warm, and we don’t provide towels.
  • Grip socks are a good idea Not required, but the carriage moves. We sell them at the front desk if you forget.
  • Bring a mat for yoga Plus a second towel to lay over it. Reformer and spin need nothing but you.
  • Swimwear for sauna and plunge Plus a towel and something dry. Showers and changing rooms are at Waialua.
  • Tell your instructor anything Injuries, pregnancy, a knee that complains. They’ll adapt the work — that’s the job.

Straight up

It’s going to be hard.

Most people are sore after their first class. You will probably shake. That happens on your hundredth class too — it’s the machine finding muscles you don’t usually ask for.

Nobody is watching you. Everyone in that room had a first class, and most of them remember it clearly. Take the modifications, stop when you need to, and come back.

Maddie Rice, instructor and regional manager at The Den
Maddie RiceInstructor & Den Regional Manager

I’ve never been a group fitness kind of gal. Every house I’ve lived in has had a dedicated gym space, because the idea of driving somewhere, having to park, not knowing anyone, and having to do a workout I might not be good at at first was terrifying.

It took me two years to work up the courage to take a class at The Den. Years of being signed up on the email list, having the app downloaded on my phone, and following them on Instagram. And even when I finally made it to a class I brought my sister and our friend with me so I wouldn’t be alone.

It couldn’t have been a less intimidating environment if I tried. I left that first class sore for days, but knowing I wanted to come back. And so I have, basically every day since.

I’ve made more friends in the past few months than I’ve made in the past seven years on island. So if you’ve been wanting to try a class, now’s the time. Whether it’s one of mine, or one of the other instructors, I promise there will be good music, vibes, a whole lot of sweat and laughter. And by the time the garage door opens back up you’ll be feeling 10x better.

Maddie teaches on the schedule now, runs the scheduling for every studio, and leads teacher trainings of her own. Two years to walk in, and she has barely left since.
